Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Part-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 2 to work with the team at our newest school in Legal. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements.

Legal Public School includes grades from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5. The school is located at 5109-46 Street in Legal, Alberta.

FTE: 0.5 FTE; 16.25 hrs/week; Monday to Friday

Duties: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will assist the teacher in a in combined grade classroom, supporting students from K-5.

Qualifications & Experience: Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma or Certificate is required; CPR and First Aid are desirable. Experience working with students who have difficulty managing emotional responses to frustration. Preference is given to applicants with positive behaviour supports and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training. Understanding how to utilize PODD to support students would be an asset. Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered.

Hourly Rate: $18.82 - $23.57 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
