Student Management System (SMS) Support

The Sudbury Catholic District School Board is located in Northeastern Ontario and serves approximately 6,800 students in 17 schools located in Greater Sudbury, as well as in Killarney. Our School Board is host to and celebrates diverse cultures and is comprised of dedicated staff committed to high quality education that inspires and promotes lifelong learning. The Board is currently seeking a Student Management System (SMS) Support to join our dynamic team.

The Student Management System (SMS) Support is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Student Management Systems, in accordance with Ministry OnSIS guidelines. They act as Board Local User Authority (LUA) and Coordinator for the use of OnSIS (Ontario Student Information System). This position provides training, guidance, monitoring and assistance to staff on appropriate data entry within the SMS Systems, and maintenance of documentation for enrolment reporting and audit. They are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely OnSIS submissions for the Board.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two (2) year community college diploma in a relevant field;

A minimum of two years of recent related work experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Good knowledge of data base systems and concepts;

Good knowledge of software information technology (IT) practices;

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;

Ability to communicate and relate with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times;

Ability to prioritize multiple demands;

Excellent written communication skills;

Proficient in the use of various software applications, including Microsoft Enterprise Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat (Standard/Professional), for production of training materials and documentation;

Ability to work independently and within a team environment;

Ability to pay attention to detail and provide accuracy;

Excellent discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality;

Ability to plan and deliver training;

Excellent organizational and time management skills;

Ability to provide regular attendance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

School Board related system’s experience would be considered an asset;

Experience with training adults.

The annual salary range for this position is $61,541.00 to $76,935.00 with a comprehensive benefit package.
