École Routhier School

École Routhier School is located in the Francophone-based community of Falher, Alberta which is located in the Municipal District of Smoky River No. 130, along Highway 49. École Routhier School is situated in the heart of northwestern Alberta’s Smoky River region which is an area comprised of approximately 5,000 residents and is predominantly driven by agriculture and agriculture sectors as well as the oil and gas industry. The school prides itself on an ability to offer quality instruction to students from ECS to Grade 6 in a dual-track program of French Immersion and an English program.

The High Prairie School Division provides many supports for their employees. We support all new teachers to the Division with an Orientation program and on-site mentoring. Other Professional Development opportunities are supported in many forms that allow staff to grow their professional practice.

Job Description:

Works collaboratively with the Homeroom teachers, the Supervisor of Curriculum and the Learning Support Teacher to support students participating in Physical Education.

Performance Responsibilities:

Including, but not limited to:

implement Individual Program Plans under the supervision and direction of the teacher;

provide data for student evaluation;

alert the classroom teacher, Learning Support Teacher and Principal to any special circumstances regarding the student;

maintain classroom discipline;

adapt classroom activities to the capabilities of the students.

assist in maintaining individual student's progress record for review and program planning. Provide observations on progress, behaviours as required; and

work as a member of multi-disciplinary team as required.

prepare instructional material under the Principal’s direction;

prepare and set out lesson supplies and equipment;

other responsibilities as assigned by the teacher/Principal.

Requirements:

Fluent in French is an asset, but not mandatory
