Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager-Diagnostic Imaging, the Charge Technologist X-ray will provide technical, clinical and administrative support to Radiology as well as related areas (Eg. Interventional) to ensure the highest quality of patient focused care and safety. The Charge Technologist must be capable of undertaking all of the duties and responsibilities of a Registered General Duty X-ray Technologist.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of science, medical imaging/x-ray technology education or equivalent
- Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario - Radiology
- Current BCLS certificate
- Minimum of 5 years full time or equivalent post graduate experience working in a Hospital X-ray/Radiology Department
- Clinical coordinator, professional practice, quality and safety, or project management experience preferred
- Post graduate education in leadership development and previous supervisory experience preferred
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, leadership and team building skills, for X-ray and interventional team
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education, teaching, and coaching.
- Demonstrate ability to provide constructive feedback, with the goals to build a positive culture, and encourage intra and inter departmental collaboration and excellence.
- Demonstrates excellent technical and troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to work independently, under pressure, with competing demands, with resource constraints, in a fast-paced environment, assess patient capabilities and limitations and make practice adjustments as necessary
- Computer keyboarding and literacy skills
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public
- Demonstrates values consistent with SHN’s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.
- Excellent work performance, punctuality and attendance record
- Demonstrate the ability to make decision and optimize workflow with autonomy.
- Ability to work with manager team on special projects as needed
