Applications are invited for positions as Summer School Teachers, for a term position during the Summer of 2025 as specified below.
Background and Qualifications
Wolf Creek Public Schools is offering a Summer School program for students who are entering Grades 10, 11, 12 in Fall 2025 or finishing course work from their current Grade 12 program this year. The program will operate from July 2 to August 7 for staff and students.
The program will run from Monday to Thursday most weeks (four days per week), with the exception of the first week and statutory holidays. Hours of online instruction or facilitation per day will be 5.5 hours. This will include over 100 hours of instruction for students prior to the writing of summer course final exams.
These internally advertised positions will be open for competition from across Wolf Creek Public Schools. The positions are open to all teachers who have the required qualifications. The prerequisite qualifications of applicants considered for this position are:
- Candidates must have experience delivering applicable high school subjects for two or more years.
- Candidates must be prepared to articulate what course experiences they have to contribute.
- Due to the nature of summer school, candidates will be asked to teach in and oversee multiple subject areas
- Candidates must be able to deliver course materials in a compressed amount of time while providing students with ongoing feedback on their work.
- Familiar with successful program delivery and supervision in flexible learning environments would be considered assets to this program.
- Online flexibility for students will be offered, candidates must be able to work with students in and online and in-person environment simultaneously
These positions would be a term position of 23 days which includes program days and recognizes time at the end of the summer school term for planning/wrap-up and reporting final marks.
Teacher Salary and Remuneration
This position will be compensated as per the current Wolf Creek Public School Collective Agreement.
Program Location
Summer School 2025 will operate out of Ecole Secondaire Lacombe Composite High School. Daily attendance will be required. Online flexibility for students may be possible.
