Invites applications for the position of:
Plant Field Officer (1.0 FTE Permanent)
The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Plant Field Officer. Reporting to and under the direction of the Manager of Plant Services, the Plant Field Officer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Board's property, equipment and construction projects and for the supervision, evaluation and training of custodial staff.
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
A relevant University Degree or College Diploma;
2 years proven supervisory experience in a unionized setting;
Proven knowledge with building mechanical and electrical systems, as well as automation systems;
Prior experience in project management and planning;
Knowledge of construction methods and ability to read blueprints;
Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.;
Proven written and verbal communication/presentation skills;
Demonstrated problem solving ability;
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
The ability to work independently and be proactive;
Trades experience would be considered an asset;
Computer skills.
