The School of Accounting is part of the Faculty of Business Administration of Université Laval, one of the leading research universities in Canada and part of a select group holding both AACSB International and EQUIS agreements. The School of Accounting offers specialized programs in Accounting (Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate) to form and train Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) and highly qualified researchers.

Job Description
  • Teach in the accounting field, preferably in financial accounting, taxation, IT accounting, or accounting in the context of First Nations’ management and governance, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Contribute to the advancement of accounting knowledge through qualitative and/or quantitative research.
  • Actively participate in the School's research activities and graduate students supervision.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and share faculty responsibilities.
Selection criterias

Applicants must:

  1. Be able to offer quality teaching in the field of accounting, preferably in financial accounting, taxation, IT accounting, or accounting in the context of management and governance of First Nations, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  2. Demonstrate a good potential to conduct and publish qualitative and/or quantitative research contributing significantly to the advancement of accounting knowledge.
  3. Be in position and willing to participate actively in the School's research activities and in the supervision of post-graduated (Ms.C. and Ph.D.) students.
  4. Be able and willing to collaborate and share common faculty responsibilities with colleagues.
  5. Have a completed PhD in accounting or a closely related field or be in the process of obtaining one (thesis project defended), or hold a master's degree in accounting, or be in the process of obtaining one. In the case of a master's degree, the candidate undertakes to enroll in and complete a relevant doctoral program after one or two years.
  6. Have an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in accounting and/or relevant accounting professional experience.
  7. Hold, or be in the process of obtaining, a professional accounting designation is desirable.
  8. Have a basic knowledge to communicate in French.
  9. Be able to teach in French within 1 year (a francization program is proposed by Laval University to support new professors in this process).

Conditions
The rank and salary are dependent on qualifications, experience and on prevailing collective agreement.
