Position Summary

The Nurse Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for patients affected by MAFLD (metabolic-associated fatty liver disease) through coordinated care, education, and advocacy. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of hepatology nursing and contribute to the advancement of patient care strategies for MAFLD management.

This position requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes in liver health. One of the primary responsibilities will be

1. To provide comprehensive education to patients and their families on lifestyle modifications, dietary guidelines, medication adherence, and potential complications.

2. Facilitate access to resources and support services for patients

3. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and intervention plans.

4. Perform Fibroscan test

5. Collaborate with staff hepatologists to optimize patient care pathways and outcomes

6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data analysis

7. Direct care responsibilities: performing venipuncture, IV insertion, albumin transfusions, paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures, wound care, recovering patients post procedures and liaising with clinicians regarding patient care.
