Position Summary
The Postdoctoral Fellow position, focusing on Nanomedicine for the treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC), is open at Dr. Mamatha Bhat’s laboratory at the University Health Network, Toronto. This role specifically involves using animal models to explore innovative nanomedicine approaches aimed at treating HCC. Dr. Bhat, a Hepatologist and Clinician-Scientist, is part of UHN’s Multi Organ Transplant Program and the Toronto General Research Institute. Her research adopts a bench-to-bedside approach, linking clinical outcomes to fundamental research. Utilizing systems biology tools, her team conducts bioinformatic analyses of ‘omic datasets (such as transcriptomic, miRNA, and methylation) from patient samples, with subsequent in vitro and in vivo validation. Her key research interests include HCC, Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), and liver regeneration post-transplantation.
