Position Description:

The McLaughlin Library invites applications to fill the position of Learning & Curriculum Support Librarian, one Contractually Limited Appointment ending June 30, 2025. The position will be filled at the Assistant Librarian, Associate Librarian, or Librarian level. The position reports to the Manager, Information Literacy, and is a member of the Information Literacy Team, located within the Learning & Curriculum Support Team.

The Learning & Curriculum Support Librarian:

  • Uses the ACRL Information Literacy Framework for Higher Education to design, deliver and assess instruction and programming to meet specific information literacy learning outcomes for a class, program, or college.
  • Provides Research Help Services in person and online to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and faculty in a team-based environment.
  • Participates in advancing team-wide goals.
  • Maintains current awareness of best practices and emerging trends in information literacy, research libraries, and higher education.

Required Qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS degree or equivalent
  • Experience providing instruction to groups in a college or university setting
  • Experience providing reference service
  • Understanding of and ability to apply the ACRL Information Literacy Framework for Higher Education
  • Knowledge of best practices and current trends in information literacy in higher education
  • Broad knowledge of information sources and tools in academic libraries
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and collegial team-based organization
  • Self-directed and well organized with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
