General Purpose

The University of Guelph’s HR Team supports annual payroll for 6,000 to 7,000 employees bi-weekly. Our payroll team works across various employment scenarios, earning types and taxation requirements. There are 15 employee unions and associations this role will interact with.

We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support the existing team as we finalize new processes after moving to a new HRIS system, SAP Success Factors. Experience with SAP will be required to support the existing team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide in depth support for payroll execution on a daily basis
  • Provide additional capacity to the payroll team by aiding with support calls, process, and workarounds.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers, specifically related to legislation.
  • Validate and analyze the payroll information prior to processing biweekly pay
  • Work with Payroll Coordinator team to process biweekly payroll
  • Create and troubleshoot ROE files
  • Processing off-cycle payments as needed

Requirements

  • College Diploma with a combination of working experience.
  • Experienced Canadian Payroll practitioner, with a PCP Payroll Certification
  • Experience with SAP payroll systems/ECP is required
  • Experience running payroll with a large-scale organization.
  • In-depth understanding of HR Data and departmental needs to create and deliver reports.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks with an attention for detail.
  • Experience with complex union environments preferred.
