Classroom Supervisor
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 30,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

Duties and Responsibilities
Be available on short notice to replace absent teachers on an emergency basis where no qualified teacher is available (a full day is 6 hours excluding lunch, a partial day is less than 6 hours with pro-rated pay rate)
Supervise elementary and/or secondary students in the classroom and other indoor and outdoor spaces ensuring a safe, secure and engaging learning environment at all times
Follow instructions left by classroom teacher and/or the Principal/Vice-Principal including the creation and coordination of safe and enjoyable activities for students
Manage minor student discipline issues and escalate more serious matters to the Principal/Vice-Principal
Promote positive attitudes towards and encourage enthusiasm for learning
Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, patience and flexibility
Cooperate with school staff regarding safety protocols, emergency plans and school procedures
Be aware of specific student’s medical/ behaviour situations and keep such information strictly confidential
Who Should Apply
All candidates are welcome to apply, however, preference will be given to candidates who are able to provide a Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate. We would welcome applicants who can provide and/or a Pastoral Reference, if available but not mandatory.
Individuals from a Faculty of Education Program and graduating in 2024 and currently processing/ or awaiting their Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Transitional Certificate.
Internationally trained educators who are working through the OCT Accreditation process.
Individuals with experience working with and supervising children (ages 3-18) or who have Successfully completed Grade 12 education, or its equivalent is required
Individual with Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Individuals with ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with students, parents, and staff;
Individuals who possess an understanding of and a willingness to support the mission of a Catholic School system
