The Waterloo Region District School Board is situated in Canadas innovation heartland, where we are celebrating the gifts of each and every student by creating limitless opportunities for them to flourish, grow and become their best selves. The Board provides a comprehensive educational program for approximately 65,000 students in the Region of Waterloo. The Board is the seventh largest public school district in Ontario with 16 secondary schools, 106 elementary schools and approximately 11,000 staff members. The Waterloo Region District School Board is seeking Qualified Secondary Occasional Teachers who provide evidence of meaningful experiences working with adolescents and/or youth. These experiences may include both paid and volunteer work. Appointments to the Secondary Occasional Teaching Roster will be effective upon receipt of OCT certification confirmation and required documentation from successful candidates. Required Qualifications In order to be eligible for the Secondary OT Roster, candidates must: Be in Good Standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. Note that conditional offers will be made to successful applicants until such time as OCT Qualifications are confirmed. Have as a minimum, one Intermediate and one Senior Qualification. Note: Current Bachelor of Education Students (Year 1 and Year 2) interested in the Secondary Occasional Teaching should apply to the Secondary Occasional Teaching for Bachelor of Education Students posting. Application Information Application Packages should include: Covering Letter (covering letters may be addressed to Dear Administrator) Resume Practice Teaching Reports or most recent Teacher Performance Appraisal Reference Letters (optional) Only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted. Communication to applicants selected for an interview will be via email. Please ensure your email address on your Apply to Education account is accurate. Human Resources staff will only respond to inquiries from applicants selected for an interview. The Board continues to engage candidates in different methods of interviewing. This may include, but is not limited to, a one-way video interview or a video-conference interview. Specific information regarding the format of the interview will be provided to candidates with the interview invitation. Interviews will be conducted, in part, in French for ALL applicants with French OCT qualifications. Individuals are not permitted to be on both the WRDSB Secondary Occasional Teacher Roster and the WRDSB Elementary Occasional Teacher Roster. Candidates successful to both positions will need to select either the Elementary or the Secondary OT Roster.
