Please see the job opportunities page on our website for more details.Job Posting 24-224 100% TEMPORARY SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST 12 months (This position works in accordance with the school calendar and does not work over the months of July & August) Location: Itinerant Start Date: March 2025 (exact date TBD) End Date: TBD (approx. 1 year ) Salary: $74,544 $97,975 per annum 34.5 hours per week (Between the hours of Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) Wellington Catholic District School Board provides speech and language services to school-aged children ranging from Grades Kindergarten to 12+. Reporting to the Superintendent of Special Education, Speech-Language Pathologists work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing assessment and consultation to support program planning for students. The successful applicant will work with elementary and secondary schools across the district to provide assessments and plan strategies for dealing with students experiencing speech and language difficulties. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Supporting students with a wide range of communication difficulties Evaluating speech, language, fluency and voice disorders using a variety of formal/informal assessments, observations and consultations Providing consultative/collaborative support to school staff, students, parents and caregivers Providing professional development related to whole class, small group and individual learning Supporting students who are non-verbal or minimally verbal and require an alternative or augmentative means of communicating (AAC) Collaborating with educators to support early literacy development Independently maintaining and managing a caseload across several schools Maintaining records and documentation Coordinating referrals to outside agencies and acting as a liaison between these agencies and school personnel REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited University Registration with College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) Experience working as a team with Speech-Language Pathologists, Teachers, school staff and other professionals Excellent communication, organizational and teamwork skills Experience with high and low-tech AAC is an asset Experience working with the school age children with receptive and expressive language and early literacy difficulties is also an asset Please note: The position involves travel to schools within the Board, and therefore the successful candidate must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license and the ability to work at a variety of locations throughout the day Mileage is reimbursed according to Board Policy Wellington Catholic District School Board requires all candidates to apply through Apply to Education.
