Under the direction of the Manager of Support Services, the cook/baker ensures the dietary needs of patients, employees, and customers are met on a daily basis.
- Previous experience working in a hospital setting.
- Previous experience in a dietary/food service setting.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized food preparation program.
- Food Handler’s Certificate.

- Knowledge of therapeutic diets.
- Knowledge and/or certification in WHMIS.
- Bending and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
- Use of sharp tools such as knives and industrial equipment.
- Long periods of time standing during each shift.
- Exposure to different chemicals.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
