Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Shared Health is transforming the provincial health-care system to improve patient care and support strategic health-care system alignment by leading the coordinated planning and integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services, and delivering centralized business functions to support the delivery of care across provincial health organizations. The largest change to the provincial health-care system in a generation requires proven, province-wide leadership with broad jurisdictional experience across multiple areas of clinical delivery and business functions to build an integrated leadership team and effective pan-system relationships that drive strategic and sustainable outcomes, enable the work of partner service delivery organizations, provide centralized business functions and provincial health services. Shared Health operates a jurisdictional tertiary hospital and provides a broad group of health delivery services spanning all areas of care including primary, acute and continuing-care across the province in urban, rural and remote areas.
With over 12,000 interdisciplinary employees delivering clinical, preventive and administrative shared services in partnership with over 250 local, regional and provincial health service delivery organizations in urban, rural and remote locations across the province, Shared Health provides Manitoba patients with the best health care and health outcomes possible by partnering with health organizations, educational institutions and clinical experts to plan and deliver evidence-based, innovative and sustainable models of care that are accessible, consistent and serve the needs of all Manitobans - as close to home as possible. Supply chain management provides strategically-focused provincial services in the areas of contract management, strategic sourcing, purchasing, warehousing and distribution.
Lead and manage the service-focused operations of the provincial supply chain shared service including contract management, strategic sourcing, purchasing, warehousing and distribution for Shared Health, six service delivery organizations and other applicable health-care system partners. Assemble and direct the supply chain management team to support client organizations with effective and responsive services that enable innovative and sustainable health services. Provide leadership to the supply chain management team to ensure services are client focused and delivered to support clients’ needs across the province. Liaise with Provincial Government Supply Chain Management for joint procurement initiatives and for interprovincial supply chain projects. Develop and implement the Population & Health Sector Cluster as part of the Provincial Procurement Modernization initiative aligned with Central Government. Lead and implement the Provincial Supply Chain Management Shared Services project.
- 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management in a large enterprise, preferably in a health-care setting including:
- 5 years of senior management experience including leading services planning and implementing approved operating plans, and,
- 5 years of experience building and managing a large, interdisciplinary team in supply chain management in the areas of contract management, strategic sourcing, purchasing, warehousing and distribution.
- Previous experience managing a shared service is an asset.
- Experience in an SAP environment is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary degree in a related discipline such as economics, commerce, business administration, health administration, finance or law from an accredited educational institution; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Active member of an associated regulatory body is preferred.
- Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
- Demonstrated comprehensive senior leadership capabilities. Shared Health has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
- Must be available for regular travel within the province, able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment, and to lift and move items of up to approximately 25 pounds.
