Finance Clerk (Accounts Payable)
1.0 EFT, Permanent
Department: Finance
Position: Finance Clerk (Accounts Payable)
Salary & Benefits: As per CUPE contract

Summary of Job Description
- All aspects of Accounts Payable including redistributions and allocations including vendor and contractor payments and Employee Reimbursements.
- Preparation of monthly financial statements including cash receipt reports, payroll entries, benefits, daycare entries
- Benefits enrollment including HEB Manitoba health benefits, pension, EAP
- Prepare cheques as necessary and secure signatures as per NorWest policies and procedures
- Assist Finance Department with the yearend preparation.
- Work collaboratively with Finance Department to ensure finance related tasks are completed timely and accurately
- Maintain up-to-date files
- Responds to requests for accounting information in a timely, professional manner
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- College diploma in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and/or business administration
- 1-2 years payroll experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and ethical business practices
- Ability to process transactions in computerized accounting software and prepare reports using computerized reporting package
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled at setting priorities, developing work schedules, monitoring progress, and tracking details, data, information, and activities
Other Assets
- Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics accounting software and Management Report
- Familiarity with MS Outlook
- Experience in payroll administration
- Knowledge of PayWorks payroll programs
- Experience in a non-profit and/or community health setting
- Excellent computer skills
