Position Overview

Under the general direction of the MANAGER, Staff Scheduling, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital (SBH), the Staff Scheduling SUPERVISOR is responsible for: coordinating all aspects of the Hospital Staff Scheduling department including: overseeing and ensuring the orderly and efficient operation of the department and payroll; supervising Scheduling Assistants and Program Assistants; developing and maintaining policies and procedures; conducting periodic reviews of internal control systems; communicating scheduling matters to Hospital staff; assisting in planning related to Staff Scheduling operations and the progression of the implementation of the Regional Staff Scheduling System.; and performing other related duties as required.

Experience
  • 3 years of experience working with complex scheduling rotations, timekeeping and/or payroll systems (e.g. ESP, SAP, QHR).
  • 3 years of experience providing shift scheduling support including applying and working within the guidelines of collective bargaining agreement(s).
  • 2 years of administrative experience working within an office setting.
  • Minimum two (2) years managerial or supervisory experience required.
  • Previous experience in health-care planning and delivery is an asset.

Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the Hospital, may be considered in lieu of the above.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Degree/diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or Payroll Administration from an accredited education institution required.

  • Working knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software applications including spreadsheet, database and email applications. Must have knowledge of ESP and SAP systems.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
