Sales Representative (Calgary, Alberta)

With a diversity of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers. 3M is seeking a for a Sales Representative to join our Automotive Aftermarket team in Alberta, ideally located in the Calgary and surrounding area. The chosen candidate will concentrate on growing an existing sales territory by selling to collision repair shops through established distribution and will be charged with identifying new opportunities

As a Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Related sales experience in the automotive and/or industrial markets would be strongly preferred
  • Successful track record in developing end user relationships
  • Business acumen, and mechanical aptitude (working with tools) is a necessity
  • Excellent selling and negotiation skills are a definite requirement
  • Superior communication and effective presentation skills are required
  • Self-motivated, results oriented and a team player
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Able to work under pressure and tight timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required as there is a significant educational component to the role.
  • The individual requires a strong customer focus and consultative skills with a proven ability to develop solutions that address customer needs.
  • Candidates must be organized, self-motivated, and able to perform their responsibilities with limited supervision
  • Working knowledge of collision estimating software would be considered

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years of sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Current, valid Driver’s License

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of collision estimating software
  • Experience selling in the current territory
  • Industrial sales experience
  • Industry Experience is preferred

Work location:

  • Remote, Alberta
  • Sales Territory: Calgary and surrounding area

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
