What is the Opportunity?
Reporting to the Director, EHS Governance, the EHS Program Specialist position ensures all aspects of the EHS Subcontractor Management program are supported across the organization, assists in the coordination of COR auditing activities with the various Aecon sectors, and assists with the administration of the EHS Management System.

What You'll Do:

  • Acts as primary prequalification liaison for EHS prequalification accounts and systems.
  • Supports sectors and sector prequalification administrators with the subcontractor prequalification process, including troubleshooting
  • Provides training on the use of the prequalification systems and coordinates 3rd party training through subcontractor management system vendor
  • Acts as primary point of contact with subcontractor management system vendor
  • Periodically verifies subcontractor management status
  • Coordinates subcontractor exemption requests and escalates subcontractor related issues
  • Administers and maintains Aecon Internal Prequalification System
  • Develop recommendations for further enhancement of the subcontractor prequalification process
  • Supports and assists sector teams in the coordination of COR audits
  • Maintains database of corrective actions from audit activities and ensures that findings related to corporate governance are escalated for review and action
  • Supports the development of EHS management system procedures, work instructions and forms

What You Bring to The Team:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in the EHS field.
  • Previous experience in the use, application and administration of ISN subcontractor prequalification system
  • Experience in development of EHS related procedures and work instructions
  • Working knowledge of construction related Regulations
  • Familiarity with COR auditing considered an asset
  • Familiar with construction terminology.
  • The ability to work with limited supervision and to be proactive.
  • Strong customer focus in this case the customer is internal Aecon sectors
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • The ability to work with various software programs for training delivery Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
  • A valid drivers license.
  • Familiarity in working with Business Objects/Business Intelligence software an asset
