SUMMARY

Following significant growth, our client, a painting company established in 1985 specializing in commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, is seeking its next Financial Controller.

With over 5,000 completed projects, our client is looking for someone who will play both a strategic and operational role within the company.

Currently undergoing a digital transformation, the selected candidate will report to the President and will be responsible for all accounting and financial operations of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and reconcile all financial data necessary to ensure accurate company accounting results.
  • Prepare the company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Supervise and mentor an accounting resource, ensuring the quality of their work and professional development.
  • Participate in and oversee payroll processing.
  • Develop and manage the company’s annual budget and financial forecasts.
  • Implement and optimize new accounting and management processes.
  • Ensure project-based accounting for various client contracts.
  • Oversee cash flow management to ensure liquidity.
  • Manage banking relationships, including lines of credit and financing.
  • Participate directly in business succession projects (acquisitions, creation of new entities, hiring, digital transformation, etc.).
  • Approve subcontractor payment requests based on project completion percentage.
  • Ensure compliance in client and subcontractor projects (CNESST, CCQ clearance certificates, releases, denunciations, RBQ license number, taxes, etc.).

REQUIREMENTS & PROFILE:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA designation is an asset.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, including at least 2 years in the construction sector.
  • Bilingual: Advanced French and English.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Excellent proficiency with financial management tools and ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, rigor, autonomy, and attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Effective priority management.
