We are looking for talented Software Engineers/Architects to help build high impact products. Responsibilities for this position include designing, testing, implementing, releasing, mentoring other developers and supporting features that enable HR teams to create a great experience for Air Canada's Employees worldwide.
Responsibilities:
The Manager, HR Digital Development - will play a key role within the team acting as the leading technical expert; they will be responsible of the translation of business strategies and requirements into specific technical solutions and will have a hands-on approach in the development phase.
Primary Responsibility:
- Act as a tech lead in the team
- Evolve the secondary system of records outside PeopleSoft (Primary system of records).
- Lead the HR Digital vision of the line Director and ensure compliance to delivery standards.
- Lead HR automation initiatives with internal development.
- Ensure solution and data framework consistency.
- Work with Functional Architect and Experience Manage to ensure consistent employee and HR Manager experience.
- Own data integration with PeopleSoft / Primary System of records.
- Application architecture - responsible for creation on secondary system of records outside PeopleSoft
- Code review
- Enforce coding best practices and framework adherence
- Change Management
- Migration policy and Automation
- Hands on programming
- People Management Responsibilities
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, or a related discipline.
- A depth of knowledge across multiple technologies, both Front End (JavaScript, Angular JS, jQuery, Blazor) and Back End (C#, SQL, ASP.NET, .NET Core, MVC Framework)
- Demonstrable ability to act as a technical lead on projects
- Passion for mentoring and coaching junior developers
- Experience in architecting & building web applications (both customer-facing & enterprise)
- Proficiency in Git
- Strong understanding of data structures and design patterns
- High personal standards around software development practices and craft (clean code)
- Experience in web application security best practices
- You know what a good API looks like
- You have experience with continuous integration environments, writing testable software, and test driven development
- Experience with microservices an asset
- Experience with Azure DevOps an asset
