The incumbent will enhance the Official Languages team with their experience in managing fast paced activities. In doing so, they will contribute to the advancement of Air Canada's mandate to mature and create awareness and enthusiasm for the Corporation's official languages commitment.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a professional with at least five (5) years of relevant experience to join our dynamic teams in Montreal. Reporting to the Manager, Official Languages, the incumbent is responsible for both the management and development of certain projects for the Official Languages team. Primary responsibilities include the following tasks (among others):
  • Responsible for overseeing all language inquiries from the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages (OCOL), or directly from customers and employees, including email reception and managing of online forms, coding, stakeholder communication (internal and external), necessary follow-ups and correspondence.
  • Under the supervision of the Official Languages Manager, act as main point of contact between the Investigators of the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages and the Official Languages Teams through various communication methods.
  • Working closely with the Official Languages team, lead the implementation of the Languages Communications Annual Plan by meeting its objectives through various communication channels.
  • Draft and maintain communications and presentations related to languages.
  • Gather, draft and review correspondence and hearing documents (witness statements, written arguments, briefs, etc.) in accordance with comments and sign-off on these documents from various internal branches at Air Canada.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the tools and templates used by the Official Languages team.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders in the review of company language policies and procedures for consistency.
  • Accountable for facilitating the promotion and attraction of bilingual candidates by liaising closely with Official Languages Minority Communities and other language groups, participating in job fairs and events and managing the Official Languages Francophone outreach strategy.
  • Identify the need for, develop and update templates for various communications.
  • Develop and carry out strategies to increase internal and external reach and engagement, in line with departmental goals and oversee the implementation of various initiatives derived from those strategies.
  • Responsible for enhancing and maintaining various knowledge management solutions for multiple teams.
  • Support as required to the Official Languages team.
  • Manage department online library, documents and archives.
Qualifications
  • CEGEP or College diploma required.
  • Exceptional and proven written and oral communication skills, in English and French, with a natural instinct for ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent attention to detail, spelling, and grammar
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and management skills with an aptitude to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities under strict deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Sense of initiative, self-discipline and proactive thinking to problem solving.
  • A high degree of diplomacy, discretion, maturity and judgement when interacting with external parties or at events.
  • Proven ability to work with difficult and highly emotional files
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be a team player.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.
  • Managing official language regulations experience an asset
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have superior skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
