Addiction and Mental Health Services is responsible for providing addiction and mental health assessment and treatment to clients and their families. Our services are designed for adults who are dealing with a severe and/or persistent addiction and/or mental illness. These services are provided by an interdisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse clinicians, social workers, addiction counselors, independent living support workers as well as clinical program support staff. The Admin IV is responsible for the provision of administrative support including coordination of client and multiple provider appointment scheduling, advanced administrative services, and complex coordination of schedules/activities for the Addiction and Mental Health staff. A high standard of interpersonal communication is required, as well as strict adherence to the confidentiality of health information, attention to detail, organization, flexibility, and initiative. This position will regularly work collaboratively with physicians, staff and other AMH services, community agencies, clients, and families. Creates/maintains complex clinic schedules, processes, covers reception and breaks Coordinates bookings with multiple service providers for multiple service requests based on clinically assigned priority, staff specialties, and availability; timely client contact and bookings. Forwarding documentation to external offices as appropriate; Awareness of Mental Health Act, Community Treatment Orders and the Health Information Act. Responds to telephone calls or takes messages. Handles difficult client service issues and complaints in a polite, professional, appropriate manner. Is aware of emergency procedures when dealing with difficult clients. Utilizes critical thinking skills when directing emergent client calls to therapists, crisis team or physician.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

2-3 years progressively responsible experience in an administrative role. Mental Health care background. Medical terminology. Excellence with computer applications and Connect Care, Net Care. Excellent communication skills, oral and written, organization and coordination, interpersonal skills with internal and external contacts. Critical Thinking skills. Experience working independently with minimal supervision, working under pressure with multiple short timelines, have tact and flexibility.
