Description
The Department of Family Medicine (DFM) is looking for a motivated self-starter who thrives in a team environment. As an Administrative Support IV with the Calgary DFM, you will be responsible for providing advanced administrative support for coordinating and managing contracts, payments, and clinical tracking of the Academic Department of Family Medicine. To be effective, it is critical that the individual exercise critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the support staff of the AMHSP and clinical ARP program. This role is often the first point of contact for the AMHSP and clinical ARP Physicians and supports departmental and program initiatives including process improvement, developing procedures and guidelines, and maintaining, and creating documentation. To be successful in this role you will be organized, professional, a team player, and proactive with strong skills in problem-solving, prioritization, multi-tasking, critical thinking, and communication. This position is with Primary Care Alberta (PCA). Description: Drafts and prepares contracts, agreements, and academic appointments (new and amendments) and submits to leadership for review & signatures (Department, UofC, AHS and Physician). Pulls information from the EMR to track physician’s daily clinical activities and other approved clinical activities and enters into the clinical tracking. Tracking is done for AMHSP and Academic cARP physicians for each month. Ensures adherence to quality assurance standards, and the appropriate application of systems and works closely with Q/I to use and train efficient methods for clinical tracking. Take on other administrative duties as assigned.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Some post-secondary education.
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration). Advanced training in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 3 years or more of intermediate-senior administrative experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think critically, problem-solve complex issues, and prioritize effectively to meet objectives. Demonstrated experience in collaboration, coordination, and negotiating with multiple stakeholders. Innovative and able to work independently in a fast-paced changing environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. This position will be part of Primary Care Alberta effective November 18, 2024. Experience working with Alberta Health Services, Primary Care Alberta or the University of Calgary in a professional setting. Software experience in Publisher, Visio, PeopleSoft, e-people, Reference Manager, etc., is an asset. Previous experience in medical/academic settings would be an asset.
