Bassano Health Centre is an acute and continuing care facility. Core programs at the Bassano Health Centre include 24-hour emergency, medicine, ambulatory care services, primary care clinic services, and community health. Bassano Health Centre has 4 acute care, and 8 continuing care beds. As a member of the CoAct team, you will provide a variety of nursing services to patients and families while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. The LPN provides safe and effective nursing care according to AHS policies and Continuing Care Health Service Standards. Working within the full scope of practice, the LPN observes, monitors, reports, and documents changes in the patients physical, mental, and emotional state and assists the patient with activities of daily living. The LPN is responsible to collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, delivering consistent quality care to meet the needs of the patient. Bassano is in Alberta, Canada. It is located on the Trans-Canada Highway approximately 140 km east of Calgary and 160 km northwest of Medicine Hat. This position qualifies for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program, which reimburses $4,000 per year (up to a maximum of 5 years) for working in the rural Bassano setting.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Minimum of one (1) year experience in adult med/surg nursing experience within the last 2 years. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.

Understanding of CoAct and collaborative care in the acute care setting. Current IV, Level 1 CVC, epidural, PCA, Narcan and IV Direct certifications. NRP, STORK, ACORN.
