Licensed Practical Nurse

We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse with experience in-patient centered, trauma-informed, recovery-based care for the 8 bed Medically Supported Detox Program at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta. Reporting to the Manager, this position is required to complete care planning including assessments, interventions and documentation for individuals accessing our medically supported detox service. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice that is grounded in addiction and mental health nursing from a recovery-oriented perspective.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Experience as an LPN in a Psychiatric inpatient unit, in an Addiction and Mental Health setting, or an acute care setting within the last 2 years would be an asset. Connect Care would be an asset.
