Description
There is an opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the team at the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre in the Emergency Room. Your excellent critical thinking, organizational and time management skills will be used daily. You will have the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient. Collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals and families. You will demonstrate current nursing knowledge and efficient communication skills. You will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients and families in a diverse population. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Must have 1-2 years of nursing experience at the bedside or in the emergency department within the last 5 years. Or have completed your final practicum in the Emergency Department.
Certification in the following courses is preferred: Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS), Current Trauma Nursing Course (TNCC), Advanced Studies in Critical Nursing (ACCN), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
