There is an opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the team at the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre on Acute Care. Acute care is a diverse unit caring for adult, pediatric, post-surgical, obstetric, post-partum, newborn, and stable unformed mental health patients. This is a busy department where you will be part of a team committed to a positive work culture and high work ethic while providing the best patient and family centered care. Your excellent critical thinking, organizational and time management skills will be used daily. You will have the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient. Collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals and families. You will demonstrate current nursing knowledge and efficient communication skills. You will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients and families in a diverse population. Cold Lake is situated on the traditional lands of Treaty 6 and those of the Métis, Cold Lake offers an excellent quality of life for all ages. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Labor and delivery experience is an asset but not required; training in obstetrics is to be expected and is offered on site. Neonatal resuscitation is an asset but not required; training in NRP is to be expected and is offered on site. Cross training to other nursing departments within CLHCC may be necessary.
