Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging manager, this position is responsible for the day to day operations of the MRI Department. The Magnetic Resonance Imaging II technologist will: Provide leadership and vision to support the department goals as they relate to AHS overall mission, vision, goals, philosophies, and policies. Provide department supervision organizing, prioritizing workflows, monitoring and evaluating staff and inventory levels, and assigning daily work. Facilitate and ensure the completion of staff orientation, education and training, including Annual Continuing Education (ACE) requirements. • Monitor staff and department compliance with AHS standards and ensures high quality of patient care. (I.e. policies, procedures, protocols). Develops, monitors, and adjusts patient and staff schedules and workflow to ensure effective and efficient services of the highest quality is provided. Responsible for staff scheduling and timekeeping as applicable. Collaborates with team to establish role expectations and assess individual and department performance. Participates in recruitment, interviewing and selection process. Identifies, develops and facilitates staff development, training or learning needs and promotes culture of learning. Engages staff and collaborates with department stakeholders to identify patient and area needs and apply context-appropriate solutions in support of safe, quality service and patient-family centered care.

As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist II, you will be a working supervisor responsible for the day-to- day operation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging services and provide technical assistance for staff. You will also organize and coordinate overall patient flow, including coordinating exam mix and weekly room schedules.

Completion of diploma from an accredited MRI Technologist Program recognized by the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) or completion of certification from an accredited MRI Technologist Program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Leadership and change management skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with technical, medical and administrative personnel. Coaching and mentoring skills to foster an environment of collaboration and effective teamwork. Must be available to work all shifts; days, evenings, nights, weekends, on-call. Previous supervisory/management experience. Connect Care Super User Role training and background.

Five years’ work experience in Diagnostic Imaging. Completion of MRSO certification.
