The Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC) is an acute care hospital offering both inpatient and outpatient services with over 600 inpatient beds, including Medical, Surgical, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, and Critical Care. The PLC is often the busiest Emergency Department in the province and the quaternary Vascular Centre for Southern Alberta, Southwestern Saskatchewan, and Southeastern British Columbia. PLC Diagnostic Imaging (DI) is an interdisciplinary team providing patient and family centered care with an emphasis on working together. The PLC DI Team takes pride in our high-quality service to the City of Calgary and surrounding area and in all we do for our patients, colleagues, and community. XXXX As a PLC DI RN you will have the unique opportunity of working together with a team of high performing Technologists, clerks, RN’s, and Physicians supporting established workflows managing inpatient, outpatient and Emergency patient examinations. This position will be preforming and supporting imaging in CT scan and Hybrid OR with being on Call that require standing and wearing lead for long periods of time. These positions are most suited for physically fit candidates that can handle stressful lifesaving situations and undetermined outcomes.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

ACMDTT enhanced practice licensure as required. Venipuncture certification required. Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) certification as required. Connect Care Training. N95 fitting.

CT experience. Good organizational skills/ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal/communication skills/tact and courteous. Ability to cooperate, work independently, promote teamwork and work under pressure in emergency situations. Perception, initiative, good judgment, and detail orientated. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control/safety. CTIC suggested for knowledge.
