Description
This position is based out of Foothills Medical Centre in a very dynamic and fast paced Diagnostic Imaging Department and is responsible for providing and performing the highest quality service possible for the clients of Diagnostic Imaging during radiological imaging examinations. This is done in an effective, efficient and safe manner. As a member of the General Radiology team, this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call. This position may rotate through Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Center.
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Member in good standing and current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Ability to work confidently, independently and within collaborative partnerships/teams. Strong organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively liaison with various professionals. Perception, initiative, accountability, good judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Ability to effectively communicate in English required. Practices effective infection control and MRI safety techniques as applicable.
