Medical Radiation Technologist II

The CT & Angio department at the Royal Alexandra Hospital is a fast-paced environment providing support to Trauma Services, Thoracic Surgery, ICU, and several other programs. Patients come through the Emergency Department, Inpatient units, and outpatient referral.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

NetCare, and PAC, & Connect Care. Demonstrated excellent skills in interpersonal, written/oral communication. Proven judgment and decision-making. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience with procedures (drains, Traumas, Biopsies). Ability to work in stressful situations and a desire to further my knowledge and performance relating to the field. Must be able to work with various health disciplines and demonstrate respect and partnership. Must be able to complete all components of OHS job - pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting/carrying/transferring patients and supplies. Wearing lead aprons for long periods of time and lifting 50lbs. On call after hour coverage.
