Description
Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta, is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a 0.6 FTE Medical Radiation Tech II to join our dedicated team. Reporting directly to the CT Supervisor, the successful candidate will play a critical role in our imaging department, demonstrating advanced competence in CT imaging techniques, equipment operation, and strong leadership through collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. As a Medical Radiation Tech II, your responsibilities will include excellent patient care while performing accurate CT imaging examinations to investigate, document and provide information about pathology while applying critical thinking and collaboration with Radiologists, fellow Colleagues and other medical support staff.
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
CT experience in a hospital setting as a Gen Rad and CT Technologist is required. Excellent technical skills and knowledge is required. Knowledge with regards to radiation safety required. Good work ethic and positive attitude necessary. Must have excellent organizational, communication, computer and interpersonal skills. Ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Must be able to demonstrate interest in professional growth. Excellent perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy required. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and Physicians. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
CT courses I, II, III would be an asset. CTIC Certification preferred. IV certification preferred.
