This position is responsible for leading, organizing and directing the day to day operations of the CT and Nuclear Medicine modalities within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at South Health Campus including scheduling, staff development, quality assurance programs, patient satisfaction and equipment. The successful candidate will provide leadership and vision to support the department goals as they relate to the Alberta Health Services overall Mission, Vision, Goals, Philosophies and Policies. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, dynamic leader who thrives on challenge and relishes the opportunity of leading. This position will also participate in providing direct patient care. The position works closely with peers and other groups within the organization. The SHC is more than just a hospital. It is a campus environment and will include inpatient, outpatient, and wellness services, as well as prevention and public health learning opportunities for the community. The campus will also include a YMCA and retail services. The SHC DI department has four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centred Care, and programmatic hiring. These pillars are guiding the development and delivery of service of to all patients and families in Diagnostic Imaging.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) III, you will be responsible for the operational supervision of a staff team and work processes of a radiology department or program/function. You will act as the lead Clinical Preceptor for MRT students and primary liaison to the area Radiologist. Your work can include establishing and maintaining adequate levels of supplies and materials for the department and administering quality control assurance programs.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Member in good standing and current registration/eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Venipuncture certification. A minimum of three years' work experience as a Technologist in an acute care setting. Courses in supervision or leadership. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, computer and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Demonstrated interest in professional growth. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and Physicians. Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.

CT Experience preferred. Previous supervisory/management experience. Full CTIC Certificate with completed practicum preferred. ACMDTT Enhanced Practice Authorization in Medication Administration.
