Description
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of Master’s degree academic preparation. Successful completion of a Baccalaureate of Nursing degree and minimum required hours of RN practice. In addition, the NP must: Participate in and maintain additional education and/or certifications specific to area of practice. Complete AHS Annual Requirements (as per MyLearningLink) and basic healthcare provider CPR.
1-2 Years' recent experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in acute care Previous experience working with orthopaedic patients preferred. Experience and expertise in cultivating and maintaining professional working relationships with clients, health professionals, and service providers. Strong clinical skills to include assessments, care planning. Expertise in managing complex clients with multiple co-morbidities. Comfort with using technology and charting in electronic systems.
