Project Manager

You are a highly motivated, tech-savvy project manager who is client-focused and committed to making a difference to the AHS organization and the larger health care system. You are conscientious and detail oriented, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with Clinical and IT stakeholders to understand the nature of their work and deliver complex IT projects. In the role of a project manager in AHS IT, you will be joining the Clinical Services Projects team supporting IT initiatives that will transform the delivery of healthcare for all Albertans. Applying your relationship building, communication, documentation and project management skills, you will work closely with and connect various teams within and outside of AHS to successfully deliver Clinical IT projects.

The position is responsible for the inception, design, implementation, and closure of small to medium sized projects or a component of a large project relating to clinical information system projects. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of projects that are moderate and well defined in scope (e.g. generally involving one department or geographic area, one component of a very large project).

A bachelor’s degree plus working towards a project management designation. 5 to 7 years of project management experience in an IT environment. Knowledge of project management principles and basic PMO tools and methodologies. Experience using Agile methodologies. Experience leading medium sized project teams.

Intermediate Excel skills and experience with analyzing and manipulating data. Good facilitation and written/verbal communication skills. Solid documentation skills, with proven ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources. Experience in problem solving and investigation. Ability to thrive in an atmosphere of change.

Experience in health care and/or IT preferred.
