Description
The Senior Consultant with Mental Health and Addiction (MHA) will apply project management and business methodologies to review, identify facilitate, develop, and implement improvements across the Edmonton Zone EZ. This position is situated within Clinical Services and Supports portfolio, which is comprised of health informatics professionals, educators, and regulated professionals. As a result, our members contribute to a collective wealth of experience that encompasses front line clinical service delivery to program evaluation to data management. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. The Consultant reports to the Director - Clinical Supports and Services and will support EZ MHA in translating service delivery needs into revised processes and operational solutions in order to improve patient care, staff safety, and operational efficiencies. This support will include consulting with project partners (e.g., patients, staff, managers, senior leaders, and physicians) to define, analyze, and document the needs and requirements of all parties to improve services. From there, the incumbent will work with project teams to identify viable solutions and present recommendations to leadership. The core focus of the position will be four-fold: lead the development and implementation of clinical initiatives and projects; facilitate the creation and execution of work plans; liaise with partners on an ongoing basis; and analyze service areas’ capacity for change and develop strategies to support organizational change. Overall, this position will hold a high degree of independence as it provides project management, change management, and quality improvement expertise to a variety of health care professionals.
A bachelor’s degree in a health-related role or community development function. A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a health care or comparable environment. A combination of education and experience will be considered, along with a demonstrated, clear pattern of professional and personal development.
Two years of experience in project management, evaluation, and/or quality improvement. Demonstrated expertise in planning methodologies, including quality improvement, project management, and change management. Demonstrated ability and comfort with leading a team, making decisions, coaching and teaching, and inspiring and building confidence in others. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influencing skills, and interpersonal skills. A master’s degree in a health or management related discipline. Project management certification. A minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in a planning, management, evaluation, quality improvement or clinical role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred. Healthcare or clinical/operational experience is preferred.
