Description
The Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) Senior Consultant is a senior professional reporting directly to the Senior Operating Officer of RAH. The Senior Consultant works with a high degree of independence, develops, conceptualizes, organizes, and manages the business case for the new build at the RAH. The position leads various project teams and contributes to strategic planning and systematic evaluation of the business care creations for the new RAH. The RAH Senior Consultant will have a key role in stakeholder relations, planning, and organizing the activities of the project. The results of these activities will yield recommendations for the Senior Leadership teams and once confirmed, the position will guide the ongoing clinical input stakeholder information and recommend future directions.
The following specific skills and knowledge are required for this position: Develops and maintains partnerships with key stakeholders (internal and external) and to foster and promote collaboration in the development and implementation of the business case. Identifies and uses appropriate project, process improvement, change management tools and frameworks to support the RAH planning. Manages the scope of the business case with corporate goals and evolving site, program, zone, and provincial needs/issues. Strategizes and leads creative solutions, leveraging opportunities for new service delivery initiatives and innovation to support future health care delivery. Chairs and participates in initiative/project committee structures to establish, advance, and communicate critical project processes, principles and key performance indicators. Works closely and professionally with governmental partners from Alberta Infrastructure and Alberta Health. Works closely with various AHS partners - including but not limited to; Recovery Alberta, Stollery Children’s Hospital, Community Health Services, Integrated Operation Centre, Integrated Quality Management, Virtual Care teams, etc. Contribute to strategic planning, business case development, system design, change management, and systematic evaluation of programs and services within the RAH business case.
Bachelor’s Degree or other relevant post-secondary education plus 5 years of relevant experience. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Project management experience for 3-5 years, including projects that required working with multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of site and program reporting structures and accountabilities. Strong organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft office applications, specifically Excel and Word. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Comfortable making decisions, as well as ability to recognize which decisions need higher level input. Working knowledge of the healthcare system.

Master's degree in a quantitative or healthcare related discipline.
