The Team Lead provides daily operational and clinical leadership and support for both MIH staff and management from a front-line patient care role as a Community Paramedic. Through demonstrated excellence in patient care, clinical knowledge, and understanding of MIH policy and direction the Team Lead will be a recognized point of contact for MIH staff in need of support for their practice as Community Paramedics and for MIH management to assist as needed with Quality Assurance, Clinical Development, and stakeholder engagement. Will be primarily focused on delivering patient care to serve as a recognized standard of clinical and operational knowledge. The Team Lead will be responsible for: Patient Care. Mentorship: Team Lead will be available to augment the clinical and operational understanding of their frontline colleagues. Instruction: Team Lead will work with MIH Quality Assurance and Clinical Development when directed to ensure best practice through assistance with training packages, educational modules, and in person instruction of colleagues in the field. Stakeholder Engagement: Provide stakeholders an understanding of MIH policy and direction and will direct the concerns and proposals of stakeholders and outside agencies to the appropriate level of MIH Management. MIH Development: Team Lead may be seconded by MIH Management to support program growth in services provided. Logistical & Operational support: Team Lead may be tasked by MIH Management to assist with an operational or logistical need when required.

As a Paramedic Team Lead, you will provide coordination and day to day operational leadership for the paramedic staff and a variety of community health services. The Team Lead provides operational support and leadership under limited supervision in accordance with designated patient care protocols and guidelines.

Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program. Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as Advanced Care Paramedic. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits. Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six (6) months prior to the application date.

Holds a position with Edmonton Zone, MIH. Currently holds a Community Paramedic Position with MIH. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated proficient operational and clinical ability. Experience in applying leadership skills including decision making, mentoring, teaching and engagement. Evidence of continued personal and professional development.

Relevant leadership\management education and experience, Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to achieve best patient care practices preferred. Experience working in and demonstrated strong understanding of community senior living such as supportive living sites, independent living lodges and long-term care preferred.
