The Centerpoint program is an outpatient forensic clinic that supports youth and young adults who are in conflict with the law. The successful candidate will be able to make excellent decisions in collaboration with a diverse multi-disciplinary team. The role is an important collaborative role which utilizes clinical judgement balanced with compassion, care and empathy. Knowledge of the youth criminal justice system is imperative. The successful candidate will be providing treatment addressing the client's criminogenic factors and supporting a healthy lifestyle. This social worker will have excellent knowledge and a broad skillset providing therapeutic interventions to youth and their families with diverse challenges. The successful Social Worker may contribute to Section 34 Assessments working collaboratively with the client, his/her family and other professionals. This role has high caseload demands with often tight timelines to provide reports back to the Youth Criminal Justice System. To be successful in the role, the candidate will have a thorough understanding of the following legislation: Youth Criminal Justice Act, Criminal Code of Canada, Health Professions Act, Children's First Act, and the Child, Youth & Family Enhancement Act This vacancy is a temporary position, ending in November 2025. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

A minimum of 2 years' experience working in the criminal justice field and with youth/young adults who are in conflict with the law is required. The successful applicant must have or be eligible to be authorized to perform the restricted activities of psychosocial interventions. Suicide intervention, First Aid/CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention required.
