Every day, you can deliver excellent care in Grande Prairie alongside an interdisciplinary team of passionate and dedicated professionals. Come and join our TA team of three other trained assistants and work collaboratively with our team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. You will also have opportunity to work closely with Speech Language Pathologists, Recreation Therapists, Social Workers and Home Care Nursing. Our dynamic Interdisciplinary team serves clients in their own homes, lodges, designated supportive living spaces, seniors apartments and private long term care facilities. There is a very strong focus on the multi-disciplinary and collaborative process including and focused on the patient. You will be required to work closely with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists supporting their care plan and participating in program planning, development and treatment as required. You will also support the team with maintenance of equipment and ordering of supplies as required. You are expected to work independently and to full scope of practice using collaborative practice, conflict resolution, problem solving and critical thinking skills, and foster effective relationships across all sites and teams. In addition to excellent wages and benefits; AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. As a Therapy Assistant, you will work both individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring and evaluation of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist or speech-language pathologist. You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum (healthy living, getting better, living with illness and disability, end of life care) for all ages as well as non-client service provision. This role will require you to work effectively with internal and external partners, and display professionalism and strong ethics in both client centered care and participation in care teams. You will demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency. You will have opportunities to use your interpersonal and clinical skills in contributing to quality improvement, program planning and student supervision.

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma is required, equivalent experience and education will be considered. Excellent communication skills and collaborative skills required. Computer skills including MS Office, and experience with electronic charting is essential. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. The successful candidate will be required to drive a fleet vehicle as appropriate and available. Previous Home Care experience and working with the elderly in a Home Care setting will be considered an asset.
