About the ALCDSB

The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board serves approximately 12,000 students, employs over 1,400 full-time equivalent staff, and covers a geographical area of more than 16,000 square kilometers (Whitney in the North, Picton in the South, Trenton in the West, and Kingston in the East).

Position Summary

As a member of the senior management team and reporting to a Superintendent of Education, the successful candidate will be responsible for co-developing and co-leading the 21st Century Teaching and Learning Blueprint. The incumbent will develop and monitor the annual budget to ensure a long-term renewal plan for technology infrastructure and hardware that aligns with system needs and funding availability. The incumbent will supervise and monitor the development of key performance indicators for the Learning Technology Services department while overseeing department personnel. The incumbent will ensure the Board’s IT infrastructure and technology needs are flexible and secured.

What you would bring to the team

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field

Master’s Degree is considered a desirable asset

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience with learning technologies

Experience utilizing, planning, implementing and assessing technology in the education sector

Experience in managing publicly funded projects and budgets

Experience in an academic setting integrating technology into curriculum to improve student outcomes

Experience in planning and maintaining IT infrastructure at a system level

Experience in policy development in the area of information technology

Experience in managing student information systems

Experience in system-level Enterprise Resource Management systems and processes

Advanced skills in the area of educational technology

Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Outstanding leadership, mentoring and team building skills with experience in collaboration and facilitation and supervision in a unionized environment.

Thorough understanding of current technologies and applications used by education sector and experience in the support of hardware, software, and wide-area networking technology including cloud-based applications and infrastructure

Must possess a knowledge of 21st Century teaching and learning strategies

Must demonstrate an understanding of how students attain early literacy and numeracy skills as best supported through technology

Proven ability to lead innovative and strategic initiatives.
