POSITION TITLE:                  Operations Supervisor

REPORTS TO:                        Operations Manager

SCHEDULE:                            Monday to Thursday (6:00am to 4:30pm)

 

YOUR ROLE: A DC Supervisor is responsible for leading and coaching a group of hourly associates in the processing and distribution of merchandise through a state-of-the-art, high-technology distribution center in a cost effective, safe and customer service oriented manner for seamless fulfillment to our customers.  As well, support the transition to “omni-channel” fulfillment processing.

  • Respond to production volume and labor needs to maximize productivity and ensure quality
  • Interface with other supervisors/departments to maximize the labor force to meet daily objectives
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures to improve efficiency and safety of operations; drive change to adapt to “Omni-channel” fulfillment processing
  • Champion change in a way that promotes and maintains high employee morale; strive for continuous improvements in all areas
  • Manage team members coaching for growth and development; ensure department morale and engagement remains high
  • Train, develop, and supervise hourly employees; scale-to-size in terms of team leadership and team efficiency (i.e., able to effectively lead smaller team and larger team while efficiently supporting fluctuating volumes per site growth plans)
  • Promote and maintain high employee morale, performance and safety, and counsel employees for unacceptable performance/attendance
  • Administer company policies and procedures, while proactively partnering with Human Resources, where needed/required
  • Communicate daily to associates regarding production goals and company information
  • Observe for mechanical and safety deficiencies on a daily basis and alert the appropriate area
  • Maintain the security of all merchandise and capital equipment in assigned departments
  • Other duties as assigned

AUTHORITY:

  • Decisions regarding flow of product throughout the facility
  • Recommend hiring decisions at hourly levels
  • Development, coaching and counseling of employees as required for performance or attendance issues

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The individual should also be strategic, innovative, logical, objective, a people developer, a relationship builder, and a team player
  • Diploma in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent, preferred
  • 3-4 years previous leadership/management experience in a warehouse/distribution/retail environment or equivalent; .com and/or “Omni-channel” retailing experience, preferred
  • Understanding of WMS and/ or experience in a RF environment 
  • High degree of proficiency Google Suite, & Internet applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and planning skills
  • Excellent problem solving ability, high sense of urgency
  • Must have the ability to act independently and ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
