IT Project Manager

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from any of our Canadian office.

What the day will look like
- Leverage the firm’s Corporate Development and IT MA&D Framework, Field Guides and processes.
- Work with local / regional IT workstream leads during the Due Diligence activities, including delivery of Due Diligence reports and Cost to Achieve documentation
- Develop the overall project integration schedule with sub-workstreams by function and ensure committed owners and delivery dates to all actions and work product deliverables
- Take the lead in communicating and driving project objectives, involving multiple functions and all relevant parties.
- Ensure that all Project systems and data repositories are updated through-out the project.
- Schedule, run and document all project related cross-functional meetings.
- Maintain overall project timing, specification, and cost status by regularly updating the respective tracking tools
- Identify deviations from project targets (cost, timing, resources) and coordinate functions to develop counter measures / options
- Escalate time critical issues to the appropriate decision makers outside of the established review cadence
- Employ analytical skills to evaluate data and resolve issues to meet project requirements
- Facilitate Diligence Data gathering, Operational Integration, and Communication coordination for new acquisition projects.
- Develop, track, and maintain synergy savings for required integration projects.
- Work with local and federal governmental agencies, as required, to complete required paperwork for acquisitions.
- Lead domestic and international projects that support the establishment of shared services, system standardization, and organizational restructure.
- Guide stakeholders in the timely and comprehensive delivery of their work packages
- Create separation IT plans in collaboration with the project team and ensuring consistency with the perimeter defined for the transaction (outlining the tasks, timelines, and resource requirements for the separation)
- Provide consultation to overall project leads (legal, finance, corporate development) in regards to deal implications on Aon IT and potential considerations on implementation approach based on deal parameters
- Gather and provide required current state IT information separating business/buyer may require to facilitate separation
- Identify and highlight functional interdependencies and their impact on critical path
- Identify key decisions from both buyer and seller that influence separation tasks
- Drive day-to-day program management activities and activate/executing functional plans
- Collaborate closely with senior M&A Advisors to align separation strategies with overall business goals
- Guide, support and review TSA documents and IT aspects of the Purchase Agreement
- Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Prepare, document, and facilitate weekly separation meetings cycle
- Identify potential risks and ensure the development of mitigation strategies and contingency plans by respective functions
- Work with finance teams to develop, track, and manage the separation project budget and monthly TSA billing for IT services
- Decommission any remaining systems or services no longer required within Aon previously used by the separating business
- Identify requirements and advise on building a communication plan
- Oversee the separation of IT systems, infrastructure, and other technology-related assets
- Set-up and drive contract separation process across key contracts
- Support identification and planning of key steps for employee transfers and timelines

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- A Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience is necessary.
- Experience in Project management is a must
- Excellent Interpersonal and stake holder manager skills
- Experience in the area of Merger & Acquisition is an asset
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Team player who can work well with a variety of individuals
- Excellent planning, organization and time management skills
