Job Summary

The Manager, SC Scheduling and Execution works to ensure that the Apotex Supply Chain is scheduled, executed, measured, and aligns with the Corporate strategies and objectives. Manager is accountable for managing the near term Manufacturing and Packaging schedules;including material, componenets and capacity allocations, batch document preparation and interaction with all operational departments to make certain that Manufacturing and Packaging plans are met.

This Manager is also responsible for highlighting situations and providing feedback within adequate lead time indicators of capacity changes or constraints that would put Apotex into a capacity imbalance situation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Acountable for managing the site Manufacturing and Packaging Scheduling Team, ensuring that site based SC Execution teams are executing their schedules to achieve Corporate Objectives Develop and execute an aggregate 4 month plan by providing visibility to current capacity information. Leading multiple and/or complex cross-functional teams designed to optimize productivity

  • Responsible to represent the site’s product delivery service capabilities, issues and opportunities across all products manufactured and packaged at the site. Including responsibility for relevant communications to SLT, GSC and Demand Groups

  • Leads the program for capacity analysis and review for the site, identifying and evaluating capacity constraints or opportunities. Liaise with functional and senior managers to deliver against issues/opportunities, communicating with GSC to align GS plans. Provides support to GSC Planning on medium to longer range (1-5 year) strategic planning for the supply network, capacity planning and total end-to-end molecule lead times by developing and inputting relevant site based data

  • Ensure team maintains rolling 0-12 week horizon and aligned to support ATP dates
  • Participate and support S&OE process, perform root cause analysis
  • Lead and support readiness activities to support schedules
  • Support Audits as required as area SME
  • Develops, recommends, & implements departmental work policies and procedures in line with the strategy and makes recommendations to the Director,Supply Chain Execution
  • Hold management and staff meetings to effectively communicate company directives, goals, policies and performance standards

  • Maintain full engagement with the site leadership Team, participating in leadership team meetings and proactively engaging in constructive and open dialogue

  • Ensure systems are in place and maintained to maximize scheduling and execution efficiencies and visibility. Establish Critical Success factors for execution performance

  • Ensure the delivery of an effective training program that maintains all personnel at a current state with respect to latest standards, procedures and guidelines
  • Responsible and lead performance conversations with employees, including monthly one on ones, to connect on performance; check in on employee’s progress toward achieving Objectives, offer support and remove barriers; and, communicate and revisit performance expectations to reinforce and encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment for all employees
  • Utilize open, honest, two way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development

Job Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor degree in an appropriate discipline
    • Post-secondary education or related certificate program
    • APICS certified or actively working towards

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, external suppliers, and customers in a professional, objective manner
    • Knowledge of all departments within Operations and the flow of materials and information
    • Creative problem solver with experience in costing/process analysis
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Excellent organization and coordination skills to handle multiple tasks, short lead-times and adjust priorities in a professional manner
    • Ability to work independently or within an integrated team environment to drive results without detailed direction
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to perform situational root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective action
    • Demonstrated leadership skills and supervisory experiences

  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 - 7 years of related and/or relevant experience
    • Experience in project management techniques and software
    • Previous Supply Chain background with emphasis on SAP
    • Extensive experience with ERP concepts and application
