Job Summary

A dynamic role for a skilled analyst with expertise in program and policy analysis to support exceptional service delivery

The Policy Analyst functions in a dynamic environment where priorities are continuously changing, requiring the incumbent to excel under pressure and adapt. The Policy Analyst works with a variety of stakeholders including community, government and justice system partners regarding potentially sensitive or highly political issues.

This position independently and collaboratively manages assigned policy projects (or portions of larger strategic policy projects) focused on the development and revision of new and existing ministry programs, projects, legislation, or other initiatives related to victims of crime, violence against women, gender-based violence, sexual exploitation, human trafficking, sex worker safety, restorative justice, and crime prevention.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., criminology, law, social sciences, business administration, public administration, etc.); an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in the following areas:

    o Researching policy issues
    o Conducting policy analysis
    o Managing projects and/or project components
    o Concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content


Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Two (2) or more years experience in any of the above areas.
  • Experience writing comprehensive reports.
  • Experience developing and/or implementing legislation, regulations, and/or policies.
  • Experience creating reports and/or conducting statistical analysis using information extracted from a sample set, data set and/or database.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to four (4) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
