The Program - TRANSPORTATION ENTRY LEVEL PROGRAM (TELP)

TELP is designed to provide career opportunities to recent graduates and provide them with work experience and training, while continually increasing their responsibilities. You will be assigned to work with experienced mentors who promote and accelerate development. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
Basic qualifications include the following, however, you MUST refer to the attached specific Job Profile to view the FULL SET of job qualifications and willingness statements. In order to be considered for a position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience requirements.
• Recent post-secondary program graduation (program completion by spring 2025 or within the last FIVE (5) years) with a diploma/degree in a RELATED FIELD as specified in the attached Job Profiles.
• An equivalent combination of education as above (e.g. relevant post-secondary certificate program) with related experience may be considered.
• Eligibility to permanently work in Canada.
As related to the position of interest, preference may be given to applicants with the following:
• Related experiential learning (e.g. practicums/placements, co-ops, volunteer work, work experience, etc.); and/or,
• Relevant coursework/training.
• Program graduation in the last 3 years or less

Unofficial Transcripts:
For in-progress students due to graduate in the Spring of 2025, an unofficial transcript (which must include your name, the educational institution's name, the years your courses were taken, the year you obtained your degree (if applicable), program courses and marks) is acceptable for submission however, a final official transcript is required prior to appointment.
NOTE: If your completed related education/program was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). Confirmation of equivalency or your related education is required for you to be considered and must be submitted to TELP.Recruitment@gov.bc.ca by Sunday February 16th, 2025 at 11:00pm.
Failure to submit your official transcript(s) and ICES (if required), may result in being removed from consideration.
Provisos:
• A successful criminal record check is required.
• Depending on the position, must be willing and able to work outside (including drive and travel) in all weather conditions during periods of inclement weather and/or rough terrain, including ascending or descending structures; working in active constructions sites, rough terrain, around traffic and construction equipment.
• Depending on the position, must be willing and able to work outside of normal business hours as well as some public speaking.
• Travel may be required
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License is required for those positions requiring travel. (Note: A driver’s abstract may be required)

This position can be based in any Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.

Applicants will be appointed to the appropriate classification level based on their qualifications.

Depending on the successful candidates relocation needs, relocation allowance may apply.
