Job Summary

The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is accountable for integrated water, land and natural resource management and cross-sector legislation, policy, and objective setting for land and marine environments.

The position is responsible for coordinating and processing all new fish & wildlife related licence applications or renewals and responding to inquiries from Government staff, licensing applicants and other stakeholders. This position provides front line client service related to fish and wildlife inquiries and application support.

Job Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • A minimum three (3) years clerical or administration experience in a formal business environment.

Experience must include all of the following:

  • Experience in multi-tasking, working in a fast-paced office environment and managing workload with minimum supervision;
  • Experience working in a customer service delivery program and dealing with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases and other standard computer applications
  • Multi-tasking, often in demanding and fast paced environments

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience using a variety of client/server database applications
  • Experience in the interpretation of policies and legislation and being able to apply them to legal documents

Provisos:

  • Must possess a valid British Columbia Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally, for varying lengths of time.
