Job Summary

The Team
The Investigation and Standards Office (ISO) is a close-knit team of 12 professionals committed to fairness, collaboration, and making a positive impact. We provide oversight to BC Corrections to ensure individuals in custody are treated with dignity and in line with both provincial and international standards. At ISO, you’ll work with a supportive group of Directors, Inspectors, and administrative staff, all driven by a shared mission to foster an inclusive and respectful environment.

The Role
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring fairness and accountability within BC Corrections. Your responsibilities will include analyzing data, preparing reports, and supporting quality management processes that help safeguard the rights of individuals in custody. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation (Grade 12) or equivalent (GED).
  • Two (2) years or more administrative/clerical experience.
  • Two (2) years experience and/or training using various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using databases and understanding the importance of accurate data entry.
  • Experience communicating orally and in writing in an effective and clear manner, including proofreading and formatting correspondence and reports to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience with digital filing systems and record management.


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience within the criminal justice sector.
  • Experience or education in financial management and/or office administration.


PROVISOS

  • Required to view and handle disturbing subject matter, including viewing video evidence of critical incidents.
  • Travel as required, at times on short notice.
